laugh again reliving
memories of moments past
sometimes you should stop
the bonds hold fast
what cannot be undone
sometimes we all must stop
catch that feeling of forever
when life ahead shone bright
bolstered by our dreams
Ah, my high school reunion last night. So much in such a short time. I'm glad I took pictures.
at Debbie's house before heading out
I drove over to Debbie's house and she drove us to Pleasanton. We stopped off to pick up some fast food, then headed to the CarrAmerica Conference Center. Very nice place! I was glad I had brought my clothes so that I could eat my food without worry about getting something on my reunion night clothes. lol!
the emptiness before
Debbie setting up the memorabilia table
Larry arrived soon after we did, then Christy and her husband Gerald. And last of the organizers came Dana and Kyle, followed closely by Jennifer and her husband.

the nametags await
Everything was soon set and we had only to wait. Debbie and I changed soon after we finished eating our food.
the beautiful ladies and handsome gentleman organizers - Debbie, Larry, Christy, and Dana
Debbie, Larry, Christy, and Dana did a fabulous job with everything! They really cannot be thanked enough for putting together such a wonderful and beautiful reunion. THANK YOU!!!
debbie and me
debbie and larry
Seven o'clock rolled around and the alumnus began to arrive and mingle.
Even though it was great seeing faces I haven't seen in a LONG TIME, it was equally wonderful to hang out with friends I still see these days. :)
cassady and me
debbie and cassady
Cassady and I stood near Debbie for awhile, which allowed us to watch as people arrived. It was fun! We tried to remind each about some of our classmates. A lot of people changed, but some didn't. It was neat and exciting to see how time touched our fellow '89ers.
kyle and me
I've known Kyle since the 3rd grade, I think. He's married to Dana, one of the organizers and fellow classmates. I had a crush on him back in our Dayton School days. lol! He called me Camcam when he saw me. Cute. ;)
bobby and me
My OMIGOSH-WOW moment was when I saw Bobby approaching the doors. I didn't realize he would be there and I was so happy to see him! He saw me through the glass doors and smiled and I greeted him at the door with a big hug. It was so GREAT to see him! We went to the Senior Ball together (wish I could find those pictures!) and we stayed in touch for a while after high school. I think he was as glad to see me as I was to see him and we both bemoaned the fact that our friends Elizabeth and Tina were not in attendance. Alas!
gerald and me with christy in the background
I didn't go to school with Gerald. He is married to Christy, one of the organizers and fellow classmate. He's a fun guy and we also have the sheriff's department in common. He's friends with one of my good friends and we've always gotten along whenever we've seen each other. :)
andrea and me
I was very much looking forward to seeing Andrea. It's been fifteen years (my wedding) since we've seen each other! She arrived late, alas! Still, we had plenty of time to catch up and hang out. I am so glad she was there! Even though we haven't seen each other in ages, we still keep in touch. For the longest time we would handwrite letters to each other. Then the internet made it easier to exchange messages quickly. I'm so thankful we're still friends. I will always love my friend Andrea. :)
me with kristina and her husband terry
Kristina was the one who coined my nickname, "Lady V." I don't use it much anymore, but back in high school, it was mine. lol! Thanks Kristina! :)
Oh, must not forget the food! Cute and tasty appetizers were on the menu. I should have eaten more but I think I was a little too excited seeing everyone. lol!
larry and steve
I have known Larry and Steve since grade school. I still keep in touch with Larry and only recently found Steve on Facebook. I think it's actually been twenty years since I've seen Steve! He gave me a hug when he saw me. Awww! And yes, I did have a crush on him back in elementary school. I still have the Valentine he gave me in the fourth grade. Well, it's somewhere anyway. lol!
larry, darryl, cassady, me
I have also known Darryl since elementary school. Larry, Darryl, Steve, and I were in music during our years at Dayton. Darryl stayed with music during high school. I can't remember so much the other two. lol! I wonder if they still play their respective instruments. How cute would that be? I think for the next reunion I am going to find and scan my elementary school stuff. LOL!
there was dancing
Oh yes, there was dancing. I went out there a couple of times, but didn't spend much time there. lol! And it was hard to take pictures in the dimmer light, etc. Oh well.
kristina, steve, and me
During my wandering, I stopped and sat with Kristina, Steve, and Terry. I chatted with Steve and was a nosy chick and asked him about his girlfriend Cherise. He asked if I knew her and I said I remembered her from 8th grade. He remembers her from 10th. I'm glad he's doing well and he's happy. It was lovely talking with him and I'm bummed I didn't get a picture of him with Cherise. Ah well!
(?), jeff, kristina, eric, michelle, andrea, me, and jimmy in front
I'm sorry I can't remember the first person in this picture! Someone needs to tell me who he is. Anyhoo, Jeff and Eric are also Dayton classmates. Funny, eh? We should have taken a Dayton School only shot. Ah well!
me and andrea
I was really glad to sit down and talk with Andrea. We talked about our families, the grad only party on Friday night (which she attended and I did not), our current jobs, etc. I think I would like to see her more often than every 15 years. lol! Maybe I should plan trips to LV every couple of years. :)
The musical part of the evening ended with "Forever Young" by Alphaville, which was our Senior Ball theme. Almost everyone was out on the dancefloor. Great feeling.
Even when the lights came up, no one really wanted to leave. I knew that I would be one of the last to leave since Debbie had to pack up her stuff. So I didn't feel too sad until the very end. I was glad to watch everyone and just enjoy the feeling of being with people who knew me when.
larry and me
Not a bad shot for the end of the night, eh? lol!
After bidding farewell to our classmates, Debbie and I headed to the park to stake out the picnic spot for Sunday's daytime festivities. The park was DARK and the sprinklers were on. We got wet. We ended up looking thusly:
Our hair was wet and part of my back was wet as well. Good thing I changed back into my shorts and t-shirt when we got there. lol!
THANK YOU, my fellow '89ers! It was GREAT seeing all of you!
