make this easier for me
won't you break my heart
the view from our seats
Oh A's, did you have to lose on Opening Night? And by that dreaded score, 5-4? It's just not right at all.
That said, I still had a good time at the game. We did the mini-tailgate thing before the game, ie drink beer in the parking lot and eat a little. Actually, I ate enough that the only thing I had to eat during the game was a churro. I LOVE CHURROS.
me and my churro
The weather was clear but very cool. I was glad I brought my thickest A's jacket. I hardly ever get to wear it but I love it! Our seats were in section 231 on the left field side. The foul pole was our friend.
50 Oakland PD officers walked onto the field and stood around the outside of the infield during the national anthem, etc. In lieu of the first pitch, four officers placed four caps and four baseballs on the mound for the fallen officers.
I totally blanked on getting a shot of the flyover. Oh well!
This was the first time I'd brought my dslr to the ballpark. I think my camera did a great job. I also brought my point & shoot because the zoom lens on the dslr wouldn't allow me to take "regular" shots, if you know what I mean. This is why I'm a hobby type of photographer.
Our view once more:
And shots from the dslr with zoom:
Not so bad, eh?
Oh, and I still can't believe that I'm cheering for Jason Giambi again. Ye gods!
