nothing moves me

nothing moves me
not the wind
not the sun
not the day
not the night
nothing moves me
not the thunder's rumble
not the driving rain
not the cries of the storm
not the darkening skies
nothing moves me
not the rise of laughter
not the burn of regret
not the chill of silence
not the fall of tears
nothing moves me
not the despair of solitude
not the burden of remorse
not the lure of sin
not the promise of eternity
nothing moves me

You know how sometimes people on your friend's list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you *should* already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

Please copy mine below, erase my answers putting yours in their place then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration! One-Word-Answers seldom help anyone out. :)

1. First Name: Valerie

2. Age: seven and thirty for a month and 14 days

3. Location: Bay Area, California

4. Occupation: secretary/receptionist at a high school district

5. Partner: I've a husband. Is that the same thing?

6. Kids: None yet, but hopefully someday!

7. Brothers/Sisters: One sister down South.

8. Pets: Yorkie and Dachshund living with us. The Lab lives with the in-laws these days. Miss her!

9. List the 3-5 biggest things going on in your life: Adjusting to new living arrangements, poking my brain for more inspiration for my story, cheering for my A's

10. Where and for what did you go to school? California State University, Hayward. Only now it's East Bay instead of Hayward. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.

11. Parents? Both alive and kicking. They're both retired now. My dad is steady as he goes. My mother prefers to rock the boat.

11b. Grandparents? My mother's father died in her 20s. My dad's mom died when he was two, but his father married soon after. My dad's father died when I was almost 19 and my mother's mother died several years ago. So I have only one left (my dad's stepmother), the only grandmother I've ever known (only saw my mother's mother a few times throughout my life).

12. Who are some of your closest friends? Sheilah, Christine. Bev

13. Any other things you should know about me: I don't know how to cook, so when I show off food I've made, it's a big deal. LOL! Not really, but you get the idea. If I could "jump" anywhere, I'd head to New Zealand, then Australia, and maybe even the Philippines. And someday, I hope to write a novel that catches attention. Otherwise, you can just follow my LJ if you want to know more about me. LOL!
