and here we are

and here we are
sadness weighing the heart
memories fleeting
reality a tearful dream
and there you are
peaceful and quiet
watching unseen
speaking unheard
is it a better place
calling you home
while we are here
stunned and stopped
what emptiness
each day will bring

I called my parents today because it's my dad's birthday and my mom told me about Randy. It's just so sad! :( My parents found out at church the day after it happened. My dad said that he cried when it was announced.

It's freakin' hot. Another triple digit day. When will it end?!
