spinning out

spinning out
control flung aside
reason turned witless
logic taking a ride
stubborn pursuit
chaos ensuing
no end in sight
each action confusing
questions unanswered
silence against the flurry
secrets unspoken
only heartache left to bury

I almost lost the poem!  Thank goodness for "edit" then "undo."  Aaaack!

I was on a field trip with other people and we all had to eat some gillyweed for the next part of tour.  After we took it, we had to swim around this place that was either a sunken ship or submarine.  We stopped at a heavy door that apparently housed the dead bodies of the crew.  Their diaries were outside the door and I wanted to take one, but I thought about how the spirits might haunt me, so I found a piece of paper and a pencil (because a pen won't work underwater).  I wrote down the motto that was on the door or one of the books and put it in my pocket.  It was time to go and we all woke up in a garage in the suburbs.  We got into the waiting limo and I took out the paper in my pocket and marveled that it was still dry.  My fellow field trippers told me I had to put it back or else the dead crew would haunt me, but we couldn't figure out how to get the paper back since the place was underwater AND somewhere else in time.

Yeah, time travel and gillyweed.  What the heck?!

Freakin' weird dream.
